New on the Block

The Hong Kong Club, Aerocity Delhi

Undoubtedly one of the most awaited openings in Delhi, The Hong Kong Club lives by its name—it’s sleek, chic and sexy. There’s the all-glass frontage, a multilevel space, two private party rooms, cocktails to match your zodiac sign, a DJ. The vibe is fun but the food is ultra-sophisticated. And while it’s housed in a five-star hotel, Andaz Delhi, you wouldn’t know it. The large space exudes atmosphere—there’s Chinese art and porcelain vases, but they’re elegant and fun, as opposed to cheesy or clichéd. The seating is comfortable. And frankly, the dramatic bar and crystal glassware are exquisite. The Hong Kong Club, serves authentic Cantonese-style Chinese cuisine and there is no second way to it. Their chefs, Alex Moser—a Hyatt veteran who’s worked everywhere from Berlin to Dubai to Moscow—and Guangdong-native chef Yu Fuhai—have designed a menu that’s extensive yet focused. They are offering authentic dishes and in addition to innovative twists on staples, such as the rock lobster with black bean, chilli and fried egg, and a fried rice with sweet corn, asparagus and king crab to name a few. The Hong Kong Club menu stands out with two really exciting things: First, their vegetarian selection is excellent. Second, they’ve managed to marry authentic Chinese flavours with a focus on fresh, seasonal, local, high-quality ingredients—something we haven’t seen Asian restaurants in India do yet. The Hong Kong Club promises to celebrate quality authentic Chinese food. It is certainly a new hotspot this season in Delhi. This restaurant is ideal for guests staying close to the Delhi airport and want to enjoy a good meal with fine dining experience, without having to drive through the busy city traffic.
