— Mara León & Zuhari Mk

"Orchard came to my rescue when I badly needed to escape from Delhi. I could disconnect from the screen because there was no TV in my tent and that just added the charm of this place. The sprawling tent has all the amenities - AC, electric blanket, dressing area and really big bathrooms. There’s a traditional temple bell that replaces the intercom to call housekeeping! So when I wanted tea in the morning I would just ring the bell and someone would come soon."
— Pallavipasricha

"We stayed here during our last night of Rajasthan trip. 5 star arrangements and the tents are done so tastefully."
— aarthyramamurthy

Set in a peaceful rural locale of the charming village of Ganahera, amidst orchards of an indigenous Indian fruit called Amla (Emblica officinalis) and fields of roses, is this exclusive eco camp aptly named 'Orchard'. Ganahera is located close to the large open grounds of Pushkar, where Asia's largest camel fair is held annually. Orchard operates from September to March every year. The Resort is surrounded by flowers, home grown vegetables, gardens and multitudes of trees among which hang hammocks on which guests can laze in a relaxing environment!

The grounds of the property are maintained by the local villagers who continue to use only organic methods of farming and harvesting practices that nurture the environment. The resort is consciously planned to be amidst farm lands where the locals continue cultivate their land and enjoy its benefits.

THE ROYAL TENTS

Currently we have 15 luxury air-conditioned tents at Orchard. Luxuriously designed, these tents cover an area of about 590 sq. ft. each and have a living area, dressing area, beautifully appointed bedroom, a large bathroom (which is a permanent structure) and a private verandah. Sheer silk curtains separate the bedroom from the living room and dressing area. The interiors are contemporary, and the feel of Rajasthan is brought in by beautiful pieces of blue pottery and marble.

DINNING

A ‘Golghar’ or circular tent set in the middle of the orchard acts as the dining tent. This tent provides a 360-degree view of the grounds and gardens. Light muslin curtains keep in the light and the breeze while adding a festive touch. The dining area is a great place for breakfast and lunch. The emphasis in both the cuisine and entertainment is authenticity, and scrumptious local delicacies, along with world cuisine. Food is made of fresh garden vegetables, mostly grown on-site.

WALKING TOURS

For those who enjoy walking, we have several options in our surrounding area. Whether you want to keenly observe the busy by lanes of Pushkar or, have an extensive tour of temples by the ghats, doing it on foot is the best option. For more adventurous ones, we suggest walking up the hill to Savitri temple early in the morning or, taking a walk through the fields nearby could be invigorating.

  • Savitri Temple (2 hrs morning) If you don’t mind getting up early in the morning, you have an excellent opportunity of visiting this highest vantage point in the area. After a short drive to the base point you start climbing the steps to Ratnagiri hill. Usually it takes 45 minutes to reach the top for a physically fit person. But all the hard work is well rewarded when you reach the top where you get an amazing panoramic view of the small town of Pushkar, surrounded by the Aravali hills. Spend some time in the temple premises before you descend. The idols of both wives of Brahma – Gayatri and Savitri are installed here.

  • Spiritual Walk around the Lake ( 1 hour evening) Pushkar is perhaps one of the oldest Hindu pilgrimage centres and is widely known for the only Brahma temple in the country. The lake is surrounded by 52 ghats and numerous temples. For those interested in knowing more about the cultural heritage and Hinduism it is a delight to walk through these ghats and bylanes. Our chosen local guides are well versed with the area who take you through these by lanes and ghats which is truly enriching.
